Batch Files (Stop Windows Update restart messages) |
net stop wuauserv
To eliminate this message from popping up over and over again until a reboot is performed, create a batch file and put it on your desktop for easy access. I call it "restart_nag_kill.bat". Put the above code in the file. Now whenever you get that restart message and want it to go away so you can work, execute the batch file.
* Note: If you accidentally were to hit the "Restart Now" button, all applications would be shutdown as well as the computer and you wouldn't be able to stop it. So this batch file is a good tool to use to avoid that action while you are working.
